About
The musical world of the Baroque was above all one thing: colourful! On the one hand, composers embellished princely pomp and solemn church services with the glittering sounds of festive orchestral suites or contrapuntal sound architectures – on the other hand, vocal virtuosos swept away audiences in opera houses. Masterful chamber or harpsichord music was heard at concerts in salons. And it is precisely this diversity that Baroque Festival reflects – in the various styles of interpretation, from the ideals of authentic performance practice to interpretations on modern instruments.
